NORTH AYRSHIRE'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE CONCERNING-FINNIE

Written by Ross Finnie on Thu 29th Jul 2010

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie is concerned by North Ayrshire's unemployment rate.

North Ayrshire has seen a 3.4% rise in unemployment between 2008-09, an increase of 2,200 people.

Commenting Mr Finnie said:

"The rate of unemployment in North Ayrshire is very concerning.

"While in this current economic climate all parts of Scotland have seen an increase in their unemployment rate, I am concerned that North Ayrshire has seen one of the largest increases between 2008-09.

"The recession has put 2,200 more people in North Ayrshire out of work and we need to get behind Irvine Bay Regenerations efforts to kick start the local economy."
