FINNIE: GOVERNMENT MUST GET PRIORITIES RIGHT

Written by Ross Finnie on Wed 24th Mar 2010

Commenting on news that Scotland's care bill could rise to £8 Billion in just over two decades unless changes are made, Liberal Democrat Health spokesman Ross Finnie said:

"With the elderly population set to increase, we must be prepared for care bill to go up.

"The SNP need to get their priorities right and instead of spending money on pet projects like the referendum bill, spend money where it matters the most on providing for vulnerable members of society.

"Liberal Democrats are proud of the integral part we played in ensuring that older people in Scotland benefit from free personal care. It is critical for a fair society this care continues to exist."
