West of Scotland Liberal Democrat Ross Finnie today (Friday) visited the new Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow.
Ross Finnie MSP was given a tour of the state of the art £20m Hospice by Maggie White Assistant Director of Hospices. During the tour Mr Finnie was shown the state of the art bedrooms with balcony access windows, the hairdresser salon, open rooms, family rooms and the rehabilitation centre to prepare for the return to home with practice stairs and kitchen.
"I was immensely impressed by the new Marie Curie Hospice, the Facilities offered by the new hospice are exceptional and show the time and effort that has been put into the planning as Marie Curie seems to have thought of everything.
"I was particularly impressed by the rehabilitation centre were patients are prepared for the return to home with physical therapy and how to tackle real life challenges of preparing meals and climbing stairs after a long illness.
"I have no doubts that this Hospice will be a marvellous success and look forward to being invited back to see it up and running."
