West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie is encouraged by the report on Port Glasgow High School.
In a report published by the HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) Port Glasgow High School received five good ratings. The Schools increasing range of opportunities for young people to learn and the staff's commitment to school improvement were also praised in the report.
"I was encouraged by the report by the HM Inspectorate of Education on Port Glasgow High School.
"The School has developed several partnerships with organisations to extend the learning opportunities for young people, such as local businesses, sports organisations, health development groups and Inverclyde Volunteer centre.
"The Learning developments made by the School have left me very optimistic for the future and if Port Glasgow High implements the improvements suggested in the HM Inspectorate of Education report I have no doubt that Port Glasgow High could become a sector leading School."
