SNP PASS THE BUCK AGAIN - FINNIE

Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary Ross Finnie MSP has slammed the SNP for passing the buck on the delivery of their Physical Education target to council leaders.

The Education Secretary refused, yet again, to answer the simple question of when the Scottish Government's target for children to get two hours of Physical Education will be introduced.

Commenting, Mr Finnie said:

"I thought that finally we would have some clarity on this utterly chaotic policy, but the Education Secretary refused to tell me when Scottish children would be receiving two hours of Physical Education a week.

"Instead of bringing clarity to the SNP's clear manifesto commitment, the Cabinet Secretary yet again hid behind the single outcome agreement with local authorities.

"According to the Cabinet Secretary she is not responsible for policy delivery. That now rests with council leaders. Apparently, in future, MSPs will have to call on council leaders to come to Parliament if we want to know when SNP policy will deliver."

Ends.
